Corn Dog Feast + Beer Cheese

S5 E12 | Drinking Ladies Drinks and Tattooing Man Stuff with ALEXSUCKS | Something's Burning

All four members of the band, AlexSucks, come by the kitchen for corn dogs, French 75s, and tattooing that could definitely go aggressively wrong.

Corn Dog Batter

  • 3½ cups flour
  • 1¾ cups + 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  1. Combine flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and water into a dish long enough to dip hot dogs in. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour.

Classic Corn Dogs

  • 8 hot dogs
  • American cheese slices
  • Panko breadcrumbs
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Sugar
  • Ketchup & mustard
  1. Skewer hot dogs and add American cheese.
  2. Dip into batter and coat with panko. Fry until golden. Sprinkle with sugar and top with ketchup and mustard.

Braat Dogs

  • Braats
  • Mozzarella
  • Dijon mustard
  • French fries (chopped)
  • Panko
  1. Skewer braat and mozzarella. Add Dijon and fries to batter, dip and coat with panko. Fry and serve with beer cheese.

Chorizo Dogs

  • Chorizo
  • Pepperjack cheese
  • Jalapeños
  • Taki crumbs
  • Panko
  • Ranch dressing (for dipping)
  1. Skewer chorizo with pepperjack cheese. Add jalapeños to batter and Taki crumbs to panko. Batter and fry.
  2. Serve with ranch dressing for dipping.

Dessert Oreo Dogs

  • 4 cups crushed Oreos
  • Condensed milk
  • Panko
  • Snickers bars
  • Milky Way bars
  • Marshmallow fluff
  1. Mix crushed Oreos with panko. Add marshmallow fluff to batter. Skewer candy bars, dip in batter, roll in Oreo mix. Fry and drizzle with condensed milk.

Beer Cheese

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • ⅔ cup beer
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  1. Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour and whisk to form a paste.
  2. Add milk gradually, whisking constantly. Stir in beer and remaining ingredients.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted. Sprinkle extra cheese on top if desired.
